Scientific Linux 3.0.9 - i386 & x86_64

Scientific Linux 3.0.9 is released for both i386 and x86_64 architecture.

October 12, 2007
Scientific Linux (SL) release 3.0.9 for both i386 and x86_64 has been released.

Scientific Linux 309 will be out last release of the Scientific Linux 3 series. We are giving it the codename "Legacy". It was designed for those machines that still have legacy programs on them and cannot move to a newer version of Scientific Linux.
SL 309 will have a longer support life than the other SL 3 releases, but it also will be missing some of the added programs that were put into earlier releases of SL 3. The most visible packages removed were firefox and thunderbird.

Scientific Linux release 3.0.9 is based on the rebuilding of RPMS out of SRPMS's from Enterprise 3 AS, including Update 9, as well as all errata and bugfixes up until October 12, 2007.
