Scientific Linux 5.0 - i386
May 4, 2007
Scientific Linux (SL) release 5.0 for i386 has been released.
We have released Scientific Linux 5.0 for the x86 architecture. This is one of the more exciting distributions to compile together. It has virtulization, GFS, clustering, better hardware support, and an overhauled installer. To find out everything, you'll need to read the release notes.
We wish to thank all the developers, contributors, and testers. As well as all those who have given us kind words of encouragement. Help often came from directions we weren't expecting. The Scientific Linux community is great to work with and for.
Scientific Linux release 5.0 is based on the rebuilding of RPMS out of SRPMS's from both Enterprise 5 Client and Server.
