A Vendor has their 'rawhide' area. Scientific Linux has it's rolling area. This is actually a web version of a whiteboard in Troy Dawson's office.

State Code: (Steps of a release)
Alpha - Most all packages from the vendor have been recompiled - Can be more than one Alpha release
Beta - Working on patches to installer. Working on added packages. Finishing final packages from vendor - Can be more than one Beta release
Release Candidate 1 - All packages are compiled and the installer has been patched.
Release Candidate 2 - Move the release to it's final place and test things there.
Release Candidate 2.5 - Final chance. If there are no major problems, this is the release.
Released - If there is no state listed, then it is released.
